As children the brothers Georg (Bjarne Mädel) and Christian (Lars Eidinger) were inseparable. But then Christian left the small home village, became a successful top manager with a whole new life, while Georg sacrificially takes care of his father. When he dies, Christian returns after 30 years - and the brothers realize that they have become completely strangers to each other. And because you have nothing to say except hostilities, they resort to alcohol - with undreamt-of consequences. In the middle of the night the brothers decide to start the tour through Germany on their old mopeds, which they once planned meticulously at the age of 16. But although with the hangover the next morning also the doubts about the sense of such a tour come, Georg and Christian go on, secretly hoping that on the trip across the country they also get closer to themselves again…

Director Markus Goller, who with films like "Friendship!" or "A very hot number", presents with "25 km/h" a very amusing road movie, which is above all one thing: a great pleasure. One could now criticize that the dramaturgy is already kept quite simple, that the conflicts are very clichéd, and that many of the secondary characters tend to remain pale, since they are given very little time to develop. But: the film doesn't claim to be particularly original or profound. And he is clearly concerned with the relationship between the brothers, which is why everything else is rather irrelevant.

And from this point of view, "25 km/h" really succeeded. There are some really funny moments and a lot of scenes that will put a happy smile on your face. However, it must also be said that not all stations on George's and Christian's journey function equally well. For example, the performance of Wotan Wilke Möhring - even though it is served with a lot of joy - is much too exaggerated and even a self-finding festival ending in drug intoxication is a little over the top.

However, at every weaker moment there are two successful scenes, which in the end create a very positive overall picture. The two main actors, between whom the chemistry is excellent, are also responsible for this. Lars Eidinger in particular, a businessman in love with himself who slowly realises what is really important in life, makes a wonderful presentation here. It is simply a pleasure to watch the two actors on their tour through Germany. You can laugh, hope and sympathize with them - and in the end you leave the cinema full of satisfaction at having been entertained for almost two hours in a really good, humorous and charming way. That's what it's all about: Absolutely worth seeing!
