The young Hicks (spoken by Daniel Axe) has become the respected leader of the Vikings of Berk. He succeeded in creating a place where humans and dragons live together in peaceful unity. With the courageous Astrid (spoken by Emilia Schüle) and his best dragon friend Ohnezahn at his side, Hicks looks forward to a happy future. But then a day shadow female suddenly appears on Berk, who not only turns the head of the nightshade dragon Ohnezahn, but also shows him the way to the secret world - the place where the dragons should actually live. Hicks now questions his dragon utopia, but he has little time for it. The unscrupulous dragon hunter Grimmel has set his sights on the secret world in order to exterminate all dragons once and for all. And Hicks and his friends must prevent that at all costs…
Eight years ago the story about the shy Viking boy Hicks and the lovable dragon Ohnezahn enchanted millions of people all over the world. With a worldwide income of almost 500 million dollars, this amusing and moving adventure was one of the greatest animation hits of 2010. After Hicks and his friends had experienced new adventures in the series "Dragons - The Riders of Berk" and "Dragons - The Guardians of Berk", the second big cinema film finally followed in 2014. After this was also a success, Hicks, Ohnezahn and the other dragons can now experience their probably last common adventure in "Dragon taming made easy 3".
Director and scriptwriter Dean DeBlois, who is responsible for all three parts, has also created a good mixture of humor, adventure and big emotions in this successful finale, which manages to spice up the well-known elements with new ideas. Because the figures have constantly evolved, the whole thing does not look like a lukewarm infusion. However, it also becomes clear that the world of dragons can't be stretched much further without the whole thing necessarily repeating itself. Therefore, the timing for an end to the story around Hicks and Toothless is really perfectly chosen.
This is also noticeable by the fact that for the first time in the series there is no real surprise anymore. It quickly becomes clear where the journey is heading and how this story will end. Nevertheless, the entertainment value is still very high. In spite of a certain predictability, the audience feverishes with the dragons and their human friends and is quite moved by the direction in which the friendship between Hicks and the Night Fury Dragon is developing. "Drachenzähmen leicht gemacht 3" may not be a surprising film, but an entertaining, entertaining, exciting and funny animated film with a fascinating visual language and lovable characters. That's what it's all about: Absolutely worth seeing!
