Pubs between Gallus, station and Main
Between Gallus and Bahnhofsviertel towards the Main is the exciting Gutleutviertel, which many would probably call "Edgy" in Urbansprech. What is meant by this? Multicultural residents live in old buildings, which are then replaced by industrial complexes on the way out of town. When I drive out of town, only the buildings of the post office pass me by for ages, so that I don't even expect a pub anymore, when suddenly an orange sign with the inscription: "Orange Beach" appears on the green central reservation before the motorway bridge, pointing to the left. My car rumbles over the gravel and it seems to me more like I want to dispose of my scrap at the FES than that a beach bar could open up here. A pleasantly wide, empty area then appears in front of you, which doesn't give you any parking worries in the first place. Well, and when I then turn behind rusted containers onto the narrow path along the Main, palm trees, sand and beach chairs await me. On a weekday afternoon, pleasantly relaxed and quiet. Ideal for reading, drinking coffee and watching the water lapping.Hideaway discovered
The beach club calls itself "the second most beautiful hideaway under the sun", which is no exaggeration now. As so often in Frankfurt, behind the new bar is an old converted water house. Beer, grilled food and live music attract a loyal crowd who rave about the cozy ambiance and friendly service. So, those of you who read along here regularly already know my slightly shallow sense of humor. But, that someone would open a Café right next to a cemetery (okay, strictly speaking, the deceased rest above the street in Bornheim), is very quirky and thus almost cool again. Stylish in plain brown kept in the interior with pretty, fresh leafy green on the tables hides the Café Coo Coo between Günthersburgpark and cemetery nursery, shady located under trees. You can't get more idyllic than that! The owner is a certified coffee sommelier, and the whole place really seems incredibly chic and purist in the best sense. The biggest plus for me is the outdoor terrace, which borders the nursery and is therefore surrounded by a sea of flowers. I'm sure you know of other adorable hideaways in Frankfurt.
