The ten big questions in the life of twens and thirty-somethings

In a city like Frankfurt there are actually dozens of opportunities to meet new people every day. Especially for singles there is a wide range of singles parties, speed dating and similar events that are supposed to bring lonely hearts together. And yet, especially in a big city, it is extremely difficult to find the right person. But why is that? Are the demands too high? Or can love simply not be forced - especially not in the single-oriented nightlife? In her book "Frankfurt liebt dich!" Anne Zegelman analyses these and other important questions in the lives of twens and thirty-somethings in the big city.

Inspired by real life, the whole thing is a fictional lifestyle novel in blog style, not infrequently reminiscent of a Mainhattan version of "Sex and the City". Even though some of the desires, longings and problems Anne Zegelman addresses here transcend gender, the book as a whole is clearly aimed at a female readership. Because as a man it is sometimes a little difficult to really understand some of the thought processes, especially with regard to the idea of the ideal partner.

The very relaxed and sometimes pleasantly ironic written texts are accompanied by beautiful pictures, which the photographer Robin Kehl has captured. He has often staged the student Deliah Eckhardt in well-known places in Frankfurt in such a way that it usually fits well with the respective passages of text. This is where the book has the clearest Frankfurt connection, aside from its title. It is true that some locations are mentioned again and again, so that one never forgets that the story takes place in the Main metropolis. But all in all, the name Frankfurt could be replaced by any other big city, because the "zehn big questions in the lives of twens and thirty-somethings" are rather universal and not Frankfurt-specific. Because not only here many single women ask themselves how to find the right man, when it's really love and when it's just sex, why in this day and age you should actually still get married, which status symbols are really necessary and how much egoism is healthy in a relationship.

Although it is not explicitly about Frankfurt despite the title, "Frankfurt liebt dich!" is in its casual way an entertaining novel that may even have downright advice qualities for some women. Taken directly from life, written tongue-in-cheek and charming and therefore overall: recommendable!
