Frankfurt's Cider Guide

What could be better for a Frankfurter than meeting up with friends after a stressful day at work to shake off the stress in a rustic atmosphere with a nice glass of cider? Whether it's in cosy pubs in the cold season or in atmospheric gardens in the summer, enjoying a nice pint with like-minded people is as much a part of Frankfurt as the skyline, Handkäs and Grüne Soße.

To make the decision of which cider pub to visit a little easier, Konstantin Kalveram and Michael Rühl have put together 36 selected pubs in "Frankfurts Apfelweinführer", which they present to the reader in words and pictures. Especially interesting for Stöffch fans might be the short descriptions of the respective house apple wines. After all, the most beautiful ambience is of no use if the Äppelwoi does not correspond to the personal taste. And who was already in several different cider pubs, which will be able to confirm that the differences are extremely clear.

The nice and helpful texts are supplemented by attractive photos, which put the respective establishment in the right light. But since it's not enough to know the bare facts, the booklet is book-ended by a little cider ABC, which will help even those unfamiliar with the place or new to swill do well in the various locales. Not all the information is correct (the telephone number of the Stalburg has been confused with that of the theatre), but all in all "Frankfurt's cider guide" is a very nicely designed companion for the next visit to one of the numerous cider pubs. Whether rustic or modern, whether insider tip or trendy meeting place, everyone will find exactly the right location here. Well then, cheers!
