The unofficial fanbook to the best vampire series ever With "True Blood", Allen Ball ("American Beauty", "Six Feet Under") has reinvigorated the now badly sucked vampire genre with fresh blood. The adaptation of Charlaine Harris' novel series about telepathically gifted waitress Sooki Stackhouse from Bon Temps, Louisiana, who falls in love with 173-year-old vampire Bill, is extremely weird, gory, sexy, and just damn entertaining. Sure, the series itself shouldn't necessarily be taken 100% seriously, because otherwise some elements actually seem almost ridiculous. But since the entire production is always presented with a pleasantly self-deprecating wink, at least true "True Blood" fans should be able to recognize the high fun and entertainment factor of the series and enjoy it to the fullest. Becca Wilcott has taken a closer look at the first two seasons in an unofficial fan book. Based on numerous interviews from magazines, TV-shows and online-articles, a lot of visual material and many other collected information, a quite good companion book to the series has been created, whose unofficial character is not even noticeable at many moments. For example, the pictures are primarily promotional material and not, as is the case with many other fan books, paparazzi pictures or photos taken by fans. Particularly worth looking at, in addition to the many portrait photos of the cast, are the pictures of the atmospheric sets where the series is filmed. The episode guide through the first two seasons is also entertaining and comprehensive. In addition to the content of each episode, it also goes into small details, the best creepy moment, the locations, or the songs that define each episode title. An analysis of the opening credits and detailed cast information should also please every fan. Add to that two exclusive interviews with cast members Kristin Bauer (Pam De Beaufort) and Patricia Bethune (Jane Bodehouse) and you have an entertaining collection of info and images that provide a good overview of the early days of this iconic vampire series. Especially for an unofficial fan book, "True Blood Sexy, Bloody, Untot" is really well done. Recommended! 165 pages
