Film: They are charming, attractive, have very pleasant voices and quite obviously a great talent for composing catchy melodies. When Julia Gámez Martin from Berlin and Ariane Müller from Swabia enter the stage, you could almost think you're dealing with a well-behaved singer/songwriter pop duo. But this impression is very deceiving. Because already after a few seconds it becomes clear that the duo Suchtpotenzial doesn't mince words and sets a great counterpoint to the ingratiating melodies with cheeky lyrics and wonderfully wicked irony. The result is first-class musical comedy for the ear and for the laughing muscles. The more than two-hour live program of the duo was now recorded in the Ballhaus Berlin and can now be enjoyed on the DVD Suchtpotenzial - 100 percent Alko-Pop Live.

Since the two ladies are on a small stage, there is no big show and anyway the music and the lyrics are the focus, some may now ask themselves the question of whether there would not have been enough CD recording. The answer is a clear: NO! Because the charisma of the ladies, their facial expressions and their overall stage presence also contribute a considerable part to the fact that you as an audience quickly succumb to the addictive potential of the duo. Whether they sing about their Berlin-Swabian friendship, take aim at the do-gooder himself, complain about too big or too small breasts or confess to penis envy, it is almost impossible with each of their songs not to bob your legs to the beat and laugh heartily about the lyrics - or at least to smile with amusement.

At the same time, one never resents the two artists when it becomes politically incorrect or a bit cruder. But apart from the content Julia Gámez Martin and Ariane Müller also prove to be really versatile musicians, who can do pop and chanson as well as jazz or even rap and rock. Their anti-singer/songwriter appeal Please don't write a song or their songs about abandonment, about the men who are Julia Gámez Martin's vice or the great anthem for all serial junkies are also testimony to the varied repertoire of Suchtpotenzial.

The duo skillfully manages the balancing act between comedy and cabaret, nesting themselves in a refreshingly non-conformist niche all their own. If you like musical cabaret, which can be a bit cheeky and nasty, you should not miss this amusing live recording. You will get addicted to these two ladies! And for this there is an absolutely deserved: Worth seeing and hearing!

Picture + Sound: In a live program that comes up without big show effects and takes place only on a small stage, the audiovisual implementation plays a rather subordinate role. The most important prerequisites, however, are met here perfectly: the picture is absolutely clean, has a high image sharpness and an authentic-looking color mixing. The sound lets both in the stereo, as well as in the Dolby Digital 5.1 mix the cheeky lyrics of the duo and the catchy melodies well understandable and powerful from the boxes. What more could you ask for? Good!

Extras: As a bonus, there are two music videos for the songs Penisneid (approx. 5:06 min.) and Das Beste am Sommer (approx. 4:32 min.). And if you search around a bit in the menu, you might also find the Easter Egg with a Minimal Pool Techno Party (ca. 1:40 min.).

Conclusion: Suchtpotenzial are charming, have good voices and can compose beautiful melodies. At the same time, Julia Gámez Martin from Berlin and Ariane Müller from Swabia are cheeky, deliciously politically incorrect and uninhibitedly frivolous. The result is a live concert that not only flatters the ears, but also strains the laughing muscles. A duo with addictive potential. For all lovers of musical cabaret, who like it to be a bit nastier and cheekier, this technically well realized live recording from the Ballhaus in Berlin is absolutely recommendable!
