Film: Hape Kerkeling is currently without a doubt at another peak of his great career. He certainly owes this circumstance to the enormous popularity of his art figure Horst Schlämmer, but also to the fact that he is simply one of the best and most likeable comedians this country currently has to offer. The almost 97-minute live program "Wieder auf Tour", in which Kerkeling can be seen in many different roles on stage, proves this impressively and very, very amusingly.
Los goes the show with a welcome by Horst Schlämmer, who brings the audience immediately from 0 to 100. After eight minutes Hape himself is allowed to welcome his audience and puts one of numerous musical numbers on the floor. After that, there is a reunion with Siggi Schwäbli and Marcel Reich-Ranicki, a very special kind of marriage treatment with Evje van Dampen, several excursions into the history of the Grand Prix du Eurovision and much more. The biggest surprise of the show, however, is that Hape Kerkeling is very open about his homosexuality for the first time here, and then goes on to deliciously pull a number of gay clichés through the mud. With an extremely macabre Viennese winter song, this wonderful comedy show then comes to an end, but the DVD enjoyment really begins. More about this in the extras section.
Hape Kerkeling LIVE - "On Tour Again" is the comedy DVD highlight of spring 2007! At the moment, hardly any other comedian can achieve more laughs per second than Hape Kerkeling. And the best thing is: the show is still fun even if you watch it several times! Who does not grab there, is himself to blame!
Picture and sound: Here there is not much to say. Presented in 4:3 aspect ratio, the picture is clean and the colours vibrant, the sound is well mixed but overall unspectacular. For this there is a well-deserved GOOD! No more, but also no less!
Extras: Here can only be a very big THANK YOU to the makers of the DVD, because the bonus material offers almost 80 minutes of Horst Schlämmer pure! It starts with a backstage report of just under 5 minutes, in which we may accompany Mr. Schlämmer backstage partly a little irritated ("I have memory").
Danach there are three of the most beautiful contributions from the show "Hape meets". Here Horst Schlämmer visits a dog show (approx. 7 min.), asks tough questions at the Bundestag election (approx. 8 min.) or shows off his luxury body at the BRAVO Boy election (approx. 7 min.). It's clear that there has to be a prize for this, and so Hape can also be seen at the German Comedy Awards, which he receives from Ricki alias Anke Engelke (approx. 9 min.). At the Golden Camera, on the other hand, he himself acts as laudator (approx. 4 min.).
Finally, the journalist goes in search of a suitable means of transport and seems to have found it in STARS IN DER MANEGE in the form of a camel (approx. 6 min.). Since Horst Schlämmer prefers to switch to a car and has to get his driver's license first, there are finally all 9 Internet short films on "Horst Schlämmer gets his driver's license" (each 3-5 min.). The only thing missing to complete happiness is Schlämmer's appearance on "Who wants to be a millionaire". But you can't have everything.
Conclusion: Hape Kerkeling is simply brilliant. Whether as Horst Schlämmer, as marriage counselor Evjy van Dampen, as a gay customer at Cafe Korten, as Siggi Schwäbli or simply as Hape Kerkeling - there is always something to laugh about. Technically, the DVD is according to the genre unspectacular but good, the bonus material is with his Best of Horst Schlämmer simply ingenious. For fans an absolute must!
