Content: It was a good idea of ProSieben to revive the 2000 canceled parody show Switch 2007 under the name Switch Reloaded. Because the German television landscape is filled with formats that are virtually predestined for a parody. And the talent of the versatile actors and the team behind the camera would really be wasted if the opportunity for such parodies were not taken. The Switch team has also gotten some really great additions in the last few seasons, which have made the series even more quality. Because even if the old hands like Michael Kessler or Peter Nottmeier deliver the usual high quality in their parodies, it is Martina Hill, Max Giermann and most recently Martin Klempnow, who with their versatility and comedic talent especially in the sixth season for some of the funny moments.

Whether The Last Cop, The Geissens, Wetten, dass...?, Berlin Day & Night, The Voice of Germany or the crime scene from Münster, whether news, shopping channels or game shows, here really everyone gets his fat off. With South Park this time even a cartoon was taken for a ride. As in the previous seasons, not every parody works equally well. Some gags are a little too flat and some characters are not well enough hit to produce more than a tired smile. But over the course of the 18 regular episodes and the two specials, there are enough good laughs to easily make up for the weaker moments.

One of the highlights of Vol. 6 undoubtedly include the somewhat unusual WG of Horst Lichter (Michael Kessler) and Johann Lafer (Max Giermann), Martin Klempnow, Martina Hill and Petra Nadolny in a delightful parody of the RTL format Mitten im Leben, Max Giermann as AstroTV presenter Daniel Kreibich or as model coach Jorge with a very special running training, Martina Hill as N24 presenter Tatjana Ohm or as Daniela Katzenberger and Susanne Pätzold's Nena on The Voice of Germany. But also the Soko Auenland, the wonderfully pranked Berlin Tag & night and of course the very special version of Die Geissens make this season a real must for all fans of Switch Reloaded.

However, not only the performance of the actors must be praised. The make-up artists, outfitters and scriptwriters have also done an excellent job again in these episodes. That with the enormous abundance of gags not every shot can be a hit, is clear. All the more reason to congratulate the creators on the high gag density in this season. So if you could already laugh heartily about the past seasons of Switch Reloaded, you can't miss this DVD box set. Absolutely recommendable!

Picture + Sound: From a sketch comedy produced for television should not necessarily be expected a technical revelation. So the stereo mix then also offers no spectacular sound effects, but transports the amusing dialogue powerful and well understandable from the boxes. The picture has decent sharpness, good colouring and is also absolutely clean and free of any notable glitches. This does not really knock your socks off, but is on a very good TV level!

Extras: On the third DVD there are some nice extras, where especially the two special episodes stand out. While the first focuses on Markus Lanz's debut on Wetten, dass...? (approx. 45 min.), the history special (approx. 44 min.) features a reunion with some of the best gags from past seasons. There's also a look at the filming of the Berlin Tag & Nacht parody (approx. 6 mins), a making of the Wetten, dass...? special (approx. 4 mins) and a short documentary on Michael Kessler's transformation into Bülent Ceylan (approx. 3 mins). Good!

Conclusion: The sixth season of Switch Reloaded has again quite a few great, but also a few less successful parodies on the German TV landscape to offer. Whether Der letzte Bulle, Die Geissens, Wetten, dass...?, Berlin Tag & night, The Voice of Germany or South Park, whether news, shopping channels or game shows, here really everyone gets his fat off. The extremely high gag density, the partly very well implemented masks and scenery and the good-humored actors make this season an absolute must for all Switch Reloaded fans. The two special episodes and the other extras only offer an additional incentive to buy. Therefore, even if not every gag fits, there is enough to laugh here to justify an absolutely recommendable!
