With infinite feeling, Anna Depenbusch fills the room. She whispers and whistles, she caresses, quivers, mocks and touches. And sometimes, as in the dynamic "Shark Bar Polka," flickering images of twenties cabaret suddenly flit by. Then the piano seems to bend and breathe under Anna's fingers like an accordion.
The award-winning Hamburg singer-songwriter is a poetic storyteller and master of ruptures. She shapes stories out of truths, fantasy and irony. She slips into the role of the in love, the hurt, the dreamer and observer. Sometimes playful with a wink, sometimes highly emotional - whereby any stylistic classification attempt is difficult, somewhere between jazz, to country, from pop to chanson.
On her own on stage, Anna Depenbusch presents her new solo program "The Alphabet of Anna Depenbusch in black and white". As a chansonniampersandegrave;re, as a narrator and exciting entertainer.
