Lead by gospel legend Rose Watson, the BLACK GOSPEL ANGELS form one of the finest gospel choirs in the world. They have been thrilling their audiences for years. No wonder, because what makes this choir so special and unique are the a cappella songs in inimitable arrangements with the warm harmonic blending of the voices. Around the turn of the year, the gospel choir comes back to Germany and sings itself into the hearts of its fans in 41 of the most beautiful churches and halls in Germany - including Frankfurt at the beginning of January!
The pleasantly warm voices of the singers go directly under the skin in an unmistakable way. They take churchgoers by the hand and take them on a spiritual journey in which they unite their faith in God, their prayers and their music into a stirring synthesis of the arts. Through the Christian African American style, with lyrics based on the Old and New Testaments, the services and concerts become diverse and incredibly intense experiences.
Sometimes thoughtful introspection with soft sounds, sometimes powerful and loud intercession including rhythmic clapping towards heaven, but always inspiring and positive thinking, the BLACK GOSPEL ANGELS inspire their audience. Their gospel classics never seem outdated due to influences from jazz, soul, blues or R'n'B, but always modern. World-famous songs such as "Oh Happy Day", "Kumbayah" or "Whole World In His Hand" are given an unmistakable signature by the BLACK GOSPEL ANGELS. Rose Watson founded the choir and directs all of its performances to this day.
ROSE WATSON is the wife of an Episcopalian in Virginia, where she directs the church choir in her home country and assists her husband in the daily work of the congregation. She has sung in front of very large audiences, especially in Europe, and not just in gospel choirs. She has been in the spotlight for various musicals and acquired a large fan base. When she celebrated her 30th anniversary in 2015, even Michelle and Barack Obama didn't miss the opportunity to congratulate her.
After celebrating her 35 years of church leadership and 110th anniversary in 2019, working on new music over the past year that will be released soon, and being unable to travel and perform due to the global coronavirus pandemic, Lady Rose can't wait to get back on the road in Germany.
