The singer and guitarist from the Cape Verde Islands has already been experienced. Now Carmen Souza, who now lives in London, is coming back to Hausen on her "The Silver Messangers Tour". Eight albums have been released by her so far. Even though she released "Songs For My Father" and sang "Cape Verdean Blues", compositions by the US jazz musician Horace Silver (1928-2014) have always been in her repertoire, whose father - you guessed it - comes from the island of Maio off the West African coast. On "The Silver Messange" Souza now devotes herself fully to pieces by her great inspiration, embarking on "Soul Searching" with him, in which she takes his cues back to his African-Lusophone roots. She manages to give a new voice to Silver's work, preserving his legacy for generations to come. With Theo Pascal (double bass, electric bass), Elias Kacomanolis (drums, percussion) and Ben Burrell (piano), her band is top-notch.
