In late spring, tens of thousands of roses are in full bloom in Eltville. More than 300 varieties can be found here, shaping the townscape around the Electoral Castle, the rose garden and the old town on the banks of the Rhine. On the first weekend in June, the Eltville Rose Days put this special floral splendour in the spotlight.
The festival offers a varied programme to match. In the castle, in the old town alleys and in the squares of the city centre, exhibitors present specialities, handicrafts and numerous products related to roses. Visitors can stroll, discover, shop and enjoy. Local retailers participate with appropriate offers, and there are also handicraft stalls with garden, home and fashion accessories, as well as a wide range of culinary delights.
One meeting place is the Rheingau Lounge on Platz der Deutschen Einheit, where local bands play while Eltville winegrowers serve their wines and sparkling wines. The Rose Days combine floral splendour, enjoyment and city life for a special weekend in Eltville.
