Wäldchestag is and remains the most important holiday for Frankfurters – even though most shops have been open all day for quite some time now. Just a few years ago, all Frankfurters were given the day off from 1 p.m. at the latest to celebrate Wäldchestag at the Oberforsthaus in the city forest. But even though this wonderful tradition is now a thing of the past, the people of Frankfurt are not letting that spoil their desire to celebrate. This year, this is once again evident in the enormous variety of culinary offerings (over 50 establishments are offering their delicacies), rides such as the Ferris wheel and the Fire + Ice roller coaster, market stalls and musical performances.
A total of around 120 stalls invite visitors to visit this traditional folk festival from 22 May – 26 May 2026 to visit this traditional folk festival.
