Sitting surrounded by picturesque half-timbered houses in a cozy pub on an idyllic castle square and enjoying the view of an enchanting castle complex with a glass of cider - isn't that nice? No problem, because that's exactly what the Höchster Schlossplatz offers in the old town of Frankfurt's famous industrial district, which was almost completely spared during World War II. The castle, which has been the property of the German Foundation for the Protection of Historical Monuments since a ceremonial handover of keys on March 8, 2002, forms the perfect backdrop for the Höchster Schlossfest, which for more than 60 years has turned Höchst's old town into a venue for a wide variety of cultural and civic events.
This year, after the Corona break, the castle festival has the motto "Heechst am Maa -mir sin widder da". In addition to the Old Town Festival (02. + 03.07.), the Kerb Weekend on the banks of the Main (09. - 11.07.) and the traditional closing fireworks (11.07., 22:30 hrs.), the 17th Höchster Designparcours (02.07.), a medieval market in the moat (July 2 and 3), an art market on the banks of the Main (July 2 and 3), the Festival of Clubs in Brüningpark (July 2 and 3), Sommerwies'n 2.0 with traditional costumes and beer (July 10), concerts, dancing and much more. In addition, the Turngemeinde Höchst celebrates its 175th birthday with many great actions.
