Two years ago Lotte wowed critics and fans alike with her hit single "Pauken" from the album debut "Querfeldein". After two completely sold-out headlining tours, the 23-year-old singer and songwriter is now back with her eagerly awaited 2nd album and the harbinger "Schau mich nicht so an".
For LOTTE, the last two years have literally flown by. After the Top 20 chart entry of her debut album "Querfeldein" in autumn 2017, the Ravensburg native was almost permanently on the road. She was the only German artist to be featured in Apple's global "Up Next" campaign, which otherwise only featured artists from the US or UK. With all the hustle and bustle, it's actually a small miracle that LOTTE found the time for a new album at all.
LOTTE has changed. Not only on the outside, but her mindset is different today. Away from the "cerebral" singer-songwriter melancholy, as she calls it, to a more optimistic, life-oriented mindset. In 2019, LOTTE sounds much fresher, more modern, alive in a different way. Organic instruments are accompanied by electronic devices, the acoustic guitar gently taken by the hand by danceable beats.
"Don't look at me like that" is about turning off your head sometimes and listening to your gut," LOTTE tells us. "I always experience the most beautiful moments when I completely let go. Then I am totally happy and free. But that's not easy for me because I'm also a head person. And then it warns you. I am often torn by it. That's also what the song is about: On the one hand I want to get away from this one special person, because he's obviously not good for me. I want to create distance, draw a line. But on the other hand, this person keeps drawing me in irresistibly."
