Turkish rock band 'maNga', fronted by singer Ferman Akgül, is back on tour in Europe after a long hiatus!
The band's music is a mix of rap, hip hop and electronic music, mixed with elements of traditional Turkish music and western rock music. The name 'maNga' comes from the Japanese comic style of the same name.
At the 2009 MTV European Music Awards, 'maNga'were awarded "Best European Performers". Since then, the band has shared the stage with the likes of Limp Bizkit and Queensryche, and performed at notable festivals such as Rock The Balkans Festival in Bulgaria, Sziget Festival in Budapest and Turkish Rock Festival in Mannheim.
The group's international breakthrough came in 2010, when they placed second for their home country in the Eurovision Song Contest. As a result, international media such as Billboard, The Huffington Post and MTV Europe took notice of the band. Today, 'maNga' is considered one of the most successful rock bands in Turkey.
