Founded in Beijing in January 1955, the world-renowned Peking Opera today brings together acclaimed artists, writers, composers and stage designers. Over decades, it has dedicated itself to the preservation of traditional opera pieces as well as creating new works of the highest artistic quality. Its outstanding repertoire thus includes traditional pieces of Chinese opera as well as innovative pioneering works.
Over the past 50 years, more than 500 traditional and modern pieces in various genres have been produced and successfully presented in over 50 countries worldwide.
