Review of the Year 2019 - Tilt!
The temperatures feel like they're in the double-digit plus range, older ladies are sipping their ice cream in t-shirts and snow seems to be an event far in the future - it's already November again in the ever-warming climate and thus time to look back on the past year. Who could that be more fun with than the original bird of the satirical year in review, Urban Priol?
Lustfully he dissects the socio-political events of the past year, makes insane connections and uncovers amazing backgrounds. The dodges of the powerful and the rich are unmasked and many a duplicitous hypocrisy is uncovered. Whether he is pondering domestic or foreign policy, rooting for his football club or shaking his head in wonder at the excesses of capitalism - hardly a relevant topic of the past year remains untouched. The fast-paced, powerfully spoken remarks are underlined by his distinctive acting and parodistic skills, because Urban Priol has been indulging in his love of theatre ever since his student days (the carefully arranged folder with the working title "Magisterarbeit" (master's thesis), on the other hand, has remained empty all his life, apart from one register). The demands on the audience are not low in this program: even if he allows himself the one or other corny joke ("I do not play for the Föjetong!"), it does not hurt to be politically up to date, so as not to miss the often subtle allusions of the mocker.
But also the cabaret artist himself is faced with an enormous task, the agile whirlwind sees himself in a constant race against time, which seems to him, who is bubbling over with grandiose ideas and punch lines and always has something to say about current topics, with a single evening but too tight. A year in one evening, yes, zefix! Priol's 2019 13th 0 - crazy, funny, merciless. And so the audience leaves his program well entertained after two and a half hours with the feeling that time has passed as the faded year - much too quickly. Here's to a new one!
