Every year on the first weekend in August, the small wine-growing community of Wicker, which lies on the very edge of the Rheingau wine-growing region, celebrates its wine festival. For an entire weekend, the winegrowers lure visitors into the beautiful ambience of the historic town center. Here, in the winding old alleyways, they open their romantic courtyards, taverns and wine taverns wide to visitors. Other winegrowers also serve visitors to the festival at wine stands along the festival streets. Traditionally, the Wickerer Weinfest is opened on Friday evening by the host winegrowers' association with the district administrator, mayor, head of the village, the local wine queen and wine princess and the Rheingau wine majesties, accompanied by music from the Flörsheim music association. This will be followed by three days of live music on the festival podium. Food and drink will also be available at various food stands.
Visitors arriving by bike will find parking spaces directly at the festival site, while motorists can park on Wickerer Berg and in the designated areas.
