From 8 November 2025 until mid-February, the Winter World at the Hofgut Laubenheimer Höhe in Mainz will open its doors again. The estate, picturesquely situated at the highest point of Mainz and surrounded by the vineyards of Rheinhessen, allows visitors to fully enjoy the winter atmosphere. The view over the entire Rhine-Main area and the fresh air create a unique alpine feeling.
Vineyard hut and Christmas offers
After an active day on the ice or an alpaca hike, visitors can relax in the cosy Weinbergshütte . Special menus are offered there until Christmas, including the traditional goose dinner, fondue evenings and the Advent brunch. On the public holidays – Christmas Day and Boxing Day – you can also enjoy the view and the winter atmosphere with a festive brunch.
The highest ice rink in the Rhine-Main region
One of the highlights of Winterwelt is the 500-square-metre panoramic ice rink, the highest outdoor ice rink in the region. Families, friends and all ice skating fans can take to the ice here from Tuesday to Friday from 2 p.m. and on weekends from 11 a.m. Every Saturday from 6 p.m., the ice disco creates a very special atmosphere with the latest après-ski hits and lighting effects, transforming the ice into a dance floor. The prices at the ice rink are family-friendly: children up to 12 years of age pay £4, adults £5. If you don't have your own ice skates, you can hire them on site for £6.
Cosy winter activities and winter delights
In addition to the ice rink, there is also the opportunity to enjoy curling for a change. Four lanes are available for groups and families, which can be booked by the hour. One hour costs £50, plus a deposit for equipment in the same amount. the Alpaca hike. The farm's friendly alpacas accompany visitors on an approximately one-hour walk through the vineyards. The price for this special hike starts at 40 euros for one to two people (including mulled wine or punch).
