Between the diesel scandal and dreams of freedom, the Germans' favourite thing, the car, is still at the centre of general interest. It has long been clear that the sound of the vehicle not only represents the status of its occupants, but can also be music to the ears of its lovers: The rhythmic, individual clacking of the turn signal, the rutting roar of the engine or the sympathetic squeak of the tailgate. But that's only one side of it, because the true quality of the freedom sleds lies in the music you listen to while driving or produce yourself. Sound systems and carols, romantic crooning and instrumental playing - reports of drums and flutes to string quartets in passing carriages are not uncommon - make the ride time fly by.

In its fifth year, the Hörtheater series continues to present music theatre at the transitions of staged concert, performance, installation and spectacle, exploring new sound spaces.
