Somewhere between disused collieries, between quaint pubs, kebab stands and dormant industrial plants lies his stomping ground. Between the Rhine and the Ruhr, between the A40 and the A3, in the largest conurbation in the republic.

A "storyteller" is Sebel. One you just have to listen to. One who calls a spade a spade. One who, with his grounded and self-reflective, and above all authentic songs between melancholy, hope and self-irony, embodies something very special in the German-language music landscape. Stories of the simple life, powerful and lyrical, sometimes haunting and fragile. But always honest! Every day is different, every song tells a different story. Songs about the big and small issues of an over-30 generation, looking back on the first half of an eventful life, and now facing the second, full of insight and expectations.
Real, handmade, traditional but still modern, and with a sharp eye for detail and above all a lot of musical heart and soul sound the songs of the multi-instrumentalist, who ala "Lenny Kravitz" simply plays every instrument in his songs himself. Acoustic guitars, woody pianos, real drums, the good old Hammond organ, retro electric guitars and real orchestral strings are the basic framework of many of his songs.
With his 2011 debut album "Wie Deutsch kann man sein" (BMG), the charismatic thirty-something was already able to make a strong mark in the German-language music landscape with his song "Heimat". He inspired thousands of spectators in the opening act of renowned artists such as Santana, Alex Clare, Sportfreunde Stiller, Luxuslärm, Stoppok or Thomas Godoj.With the subsequent and initially by RCA/Sony worked 2nd album "Album vom Alleine Sein" (2015) Sebel could prove that his songs are quite format radio compatible and can take place in the German radio. The single "Nicht Tot" reached the top 100 of the airplay charts and was especially pushed by stations like Bayern3, Antenne1 and WDR2.
With the album "Windstärke 10", released in 2019, Sebel can now build on past radio successes. Because despite the retro and handmade sound of the album, it still sounds modern and catchy and have the necessary punch. The songs "Windstärke10" and "Mach'ma was mitm Wetter" have strong potential to be played on the radio! The gold and platinum award-winning songwriter and producer Sandi Strmljan (Udo Lindenberg, Glasperlenspiel, Helen Schneider, Chris Norman, among others) was Sebel's co-writer and co-producer.
Also with the collaboration with the German rapper "Alligatoah" Sebel shows how much the handmade and traditional is back in the music world today, and also wanted again by the young audience. In 2017/18, the two went on tour as a duo, with Sebel accompanying the rapper all alone on the Hammond organ. In 2019, Sebel produced Alligatoah's single "Nicht Wecken and played many of the instruments on the single. Sebel has also been on the road with German rocker Stoppok for 10 years now, playing Hammond organ, guitar and drums firmly in his band.
Sebel is what you call a "real talent". A gifted musician on so many instruments, an astute songwriter, and a charismatic vocalist whose every word is instantly believable. He also shoots and edits his large-scale music videos almost entirely on his own. An authentic self-made artist, straight out, with Ruhrpottschnauze and infectious charm. A real guy halt!
