MÄNNERHORT shooting in Frankfurt

Frankfurt once again becomes a film set: Recently, director Franziska Meyer Price (Berlin, Berlin, Doctor`s Diary) shot the comedy MÄNNERHORT in Frankfurt`s Riedberg district, among other locations. The film is loosely based on the play of the same name by Kristof Magnusson and tells the story of Eroll (Elyas M`Barek), Lars (Christoph Maria Herbst) and Helmut (Deltev Buck), who, on the run from their consumerist wives, go into hiding in a central heating basement in their new housing estate, where they have set up a last enclave of masculinity. But when facility manager Aykut (Serkan Çetinkaya) discovers them one day, they are forced to fight for their hiding place - until Aykut suddenly wants to hide there from his wife as well...

Before the film is released in 2014, the press was invited to the set, where the actors Elyas M`Barek, Christoph Maria Herbst, Detlev Buck, Serkan Çetinkaya and Cosma Shiva Hagen, director Franziska Meyer Price, producers Uli Aselmann and Oliver Berben, as well as screenwriters David Ungureit and Rainer Ewerin, together with the sponsors of the State of Hesse (State Secretary Ingmar Jung, Ministerialdirigent Günter Schmitteckert and Dr. Ursula Vossen of HessenInstitut) met to discuss the film. Ursula Vossen from HessenInvestFilm) for the photo shoot.

Despite the tight shooting schedule, the actors in particular were in extremely good spirits and answered a number of questions after the photo shoot. Of primary interest to the journalists present was, of course, how the actors liked working in Frankfurt. The verdict was of course unanimously positive, with Elyas M`Barek in particular pleased to be able to shoot in the Main metropolis for the second time after WHAT A MAN.

It remains to be seen whether the film will be as amusing as the play, for which Christoph Maria Herbst has been on stage with Bastian Pastewka and Michael Kessler time and again since 2005. But the atmosphere on the set already gave rise to hopes of great cinematic fun. Let's see if these expectations will be met when MÄNNERHORT opens its doors in the cinema next year...
