On the set of ALL IS LOVE

It was only a few weeks ago that Frankfurt was lit up everywhere by Christmas decorations and the Christmas market dominated the cityscape. But the Santas have long since disappeared from the shop windows, the festive stalls have been dismantled and the smell of gingerbread and mulled wine has given way to the scent of spring. Many Frankfurt residents were all the more surprised when the large carousel was suddenly set up on Römerberg along with a number of Christmas market stalls and people wearing Christmas hats walked through the scenery. But don't worry: the real Christmas market won't actually be back until November. What was set up at the Römer last week was merely the backdrop for the new film by Markus Goller (Friendship, Frau Ella), which is currently being filmed in Frankfurt and Berlin and will be released in our cinemas in early December.

Based on the 2007 Dutch film Alles is Liefde, Alles ist Liebe tells the story of five different couples who have to deal with the normal madness during the Christmas season. Kiki (Nora Tschirner) and Jan (Tom Beck), for example, meet again after many years. He was once her great love, but has since become not only a big Hollywood star, but also an even bigger puke. So it seems unlikely that the old sparks will begin to glow again. Recording executive Alice (Inez Bjørg David) is grappling with the mysterious Martin (Elmar Wepper), who is carrying around a big secret. Viktor (Friedrich Mücke) and Klaus (Christian Ulmen) are actually a happy couple. The wedding is imminent, but Klaus has grave doubts, coming as he does from a family that is not exactly a prime example of the durability of love. Clara (Heike Makatsch) and Hannes (Wotan Wilke Möhring) have long been on the road to the altar and are now facing the ruins of their marriage after Hannes has cheated. For Simone (Katharina Schüttler) and Kerem (Fahri Yardim), on the other hand, the marriage itself is going ideally. The couple is happy and has two wonderful children, soon to be followed by a third. Everything is going perfectly until Kerem loses his job...

Despite a tight shooting schedule, Nora Tschirner, Tom Beck, Inez Bjørg David, Elmar Wepper and director Markus Goller, along with Ueli Steiger (camera), Henning Ferber (producer) and Paul Steinschulte (Universal Pictures International Germany, managing director) took the time to give the press a sneak peek at the shoot. In Frankfurt, the Frankfurter Hof Hotel served as a backdrop for the film, in addition to the banks of the Main, the Römer and the Alte Oper. Here the press was invited to get a short impression of the shooting of a scene showing Kiki alias Nora Tschirner in front of the Commerzbank Tower. After a few takes of this scene had been shot, the break was used for a short photo session, during which the actors and filmmakers were accompanied by Boris Rhein, the Hessian Minister for Science and Art, Dr. Ursula Vossen from HessenInvestFilm and Katrin Huvart from the Film Commission Hessen. After the photo motifs, there was time for short statements: While the actors were generally very positive about the shoot in Frankfurt and the relaxed atmosphere among themselves, and told a little about their characters, Minister Boris Rhein emphasized how important it was for a city like Frankfurt to promote films and attract filmmakers to the Main metropolis. In view of the motifs that Goller and his team chose for the shoot in Frankfurt, it can then indeed be assumed that Alles ist Liebe will not only be a beautiful Christmas film, but also an attractive advertisement for Frankfurt.

To what extent this will be the case and whether the very nice first impression we were able to make on location will also be noticeable on the big screen, you can see for yourself from 04.12.2014 - because then Alles ist Liebe will be released in German cinemas! We are excited!
