It doesn't get more international than Frankfurt, people from over one hundred countries also enrich our city with their culinary offerings: whether Portuguese in Niederrad, African in Ostend or Brazilian in the city centre. Not to forget the Kaiserstraße. However, if you feel like completely immersing yourself in global food culture, you will have the opportunity to do so at the 1st Foodtruckfestival this Friday in Frankfurt's Jahrhunderthalle, Butterblümchenwiese. We had blogged in detail about the phenomenon of "food trucks" in Sachsenhausen on frankfurt-tipp in April Here.
So what's so special about this event? The music, the gathering of forty different food trucks in one place, a menu offering everything from Belgian waffles to Mexican tacos to burgers to BBQ to vegetarian. Everyone is sure to find something to their liking to ring in the weekend in a relaxed fashion at Buttercup Meadow! For some time now, the hottest trend in relaxed food culture from the USA has also been spreading here: the food trucks travel from all directions in Europe and also supply the hungry foodies with homemade lemonades, cocktails, craft beer, selected wines and chill beats. Ideal for all those who don't want to grill themselves. Let's hope that the idea of offering sophisticated take-away food will be well received and that the snack trucks will enrich Frankfurt's city districts in the future. For those who otherwise want to indulge in feasting at the snack stand during the week, there are three more ideas on international, SlowFood and Bioburger below and you can read more about it here. Bon appetit!
