Green sauce not only delights the palates of connoisseurs, but also causes heated discussions time and again. That's because the right way to prepare it, from the ingredients to how to chop or mix them, are all downright philosophies that experts have been arguing about for decades. The focus, however, is on enjoyment. No matter which variety of green sauce you choose.

Not only since Johann Wolfgang von Goethe made his preference for the "Grie Soß" obvious, this very special specialty enjoys great popularity. And yet, until now, there has been no official book devoted solely to this delicacy. Until now. Because now Ingrid Schick, with the help of 25 recipe patrons, has finally set out to give green sauce the monument it deserves.

In "Green Sauce - The Best Recipes" there are not only different variations of "Grie Soß" to discover. The reader also learns a lot of interesting facts about this healthy delicacy. For example, Ingrid Schick dispels some myths - such as that green sauce is a genuine Frankfurt invention - and introduces the individual herbs used in the sauce.

After this introduction, it's down to the nitty-gritty. Green sauce in a wide variety of forms, sometimes classic, such as from the well-known market woman Gisela Paul or
Also from Maja Wolff, stager of the Green Sauce Festival, sometimes more exotic, such as English Mint Sauce or Peruvian Salsa de Huacatay. Experimental items, such as a Green Sauce Praline, Frankfurt Green Sauce Mustard or a Green Sauce Herb Sorbet, will also be featured.

At the launch of the book at Kay Exenberger's Frankfurt Imbiss, the press present had the opportunity to taste some of the creations presented in the book. Personal favourites are the refreshing sorbet by Michael Stöckl, but also the wild herb dip "Ach du grüne Neune" by Dorisa Winkenbach - simply delicious! The Green Sauce Praline by Bernd Siefert also has a certain charm, which comes from the interplay of sweet chocolate and the not too obtrusively coordinated herbal flavor.

However, as is so often the case, tastes differ when it comes to Green Sauce and its variants. Therefore, you can only be advised to get this beautiful booklet, which also has to offer valuable kitchen tips and other information about the green sauce, and simply try out for yourself, which is your very personal favorite variant of the green sauce.
