Fantasy Filmfest 2016

Fantasy Filmfest 2016

From 01. - 11.09.2016 at CineStar Metropolis

Happy Birthday, FFF! For 30 years now, the Fantasy Filmfest has enjoyed ever-increasing popularity throughout Germany. No wonder, because there is just a very special atmosphere when you can see a genre film with many like-minded fans. Viewers still come to Fantasy Filmfest for the films and not to play around on their smartphones or talk loudly with their mates. In addition, top-class productions from the horror and fantasy genres are often presented here, which officially only see the light of the German cinema halls much later or even never. Good examples from the last fifteen years were the sci-fi thriller District 9, the excellent thriller The Machinist, the zombie comedy Fido, the satirical horror Trick r Treat, the gripping home invasion thriller You`re Next or the cult film Donnie Darko. Also at the 30th Fantasy Filmfest the organizers have put together a very respectable and interesting program, which you can admire in Frankfurt again at the Cinestar Metropolis.

So from 01 to 11 September US productions like Swiss Army Man with Daniel Radcliffe, Follow or the trash comedy Yoga Hosers by Kevin Smith, but also many other interesting productions from around the world.

From Korea, for example, comes the film Train to Busan, which even made it into the official program of the Cannes Film Festival, Iran sends the directorial debut of Babak Anvari into the race with Under the Shadow, from Italy comes Deep in the Wood by Stefano Lodovichi and also the Mexican-French co-production Desierto by Jonás Cuarón is a worthy genre entry for the popular festival. However, the horror anime Seoul Station, or the Stephen King adaptation Cell are other highlights of this year's festival. In addition, this year also sees the return of the popular short films, which are guaranteed to provide a surprise or two.

This, however, is just a small selection of the films Fantasy Filmfest has in store for its 30th festival year. If you want more information about these and the other films, as well as the exact schedule, you can find these details on the <link http: www.fantasyfilmfest.com _blank>homepage of the festival.
