Film shooting above the rooftops of Frankfurt

Frankfurt increasingly provides the perfect backdrop for major cinema productions. In recent years, for example, the skyline of the Main metropolis has featured in films as diverse as "What a Man", "Doktorspiele", "Ein Atem" and "Hin und Weg". And even New York was able to convincingly double Frankfurt in the satire "Iron Sky". Now Frankfurt has once again been chosen as the filming location. Based on the bestseller of the same name by Kerstin Gier, AUF DER ANDEREN SEITE IST DAS GRAS VIEL GRÜNER is currently being made on locations in the city and other places in Hesse. And that's what the film, which is scheduled for release in 2017, is about:

Kati (Jessica Schwarz) and her husband Felix (Felix Klare) have been in a happy relationship for five years, but slowly everyday life creeps in. When the stunningly attractive Mathias (Christoph Letkowski) crosses her path, things change abruptly. Kati falls head over heels in love and begins to doubt Felix and their future together.

And then what probably everyone has thought about happens: What would it be like if you could turn back time to see if what you didn't have would have been more appealing? Kati wakes up on a day exactly five years earlier, the day before she first met Felix. So Kati surprisingly gets her second chance from fate in her search for true love.

Director Pepe Danquart ("Basta - Rotwein oder Totsein", "Joschka und Herr Fischer", "Lauf Junge, Lauf"), with support from HessenFilm und Medien and the DFFF, turns a screenplay by Stefan Barth, Katrin Milhahn and Antonia Rothenberg into reality. During a day of shooting in the Bahnhofsviertel, the press was invited to visit the set above the roofs of Frankfurt. Here we were able to watch the shooting of a scene before it was time for a photo shoot with the actors Jessica Schwarz, Christoph Letkowski and Judy Winter, director Pepe Danquart (director), producers Alexander Thies, Stefan Thies, and Boris Rhein (Hessian Minister of Science and Art), Gabriele Jung (executive producer), Clemens Schaeffer (executive producer), Claudia Grässel (Editorial Office ARD Degeto), Hans Joachim Mendig (Managing Director of HessenFilm und Medien) and Christiane Zietzer (Film Commission Hessen) went.

Even though there was not much to see yet, this visit to the set made us want to see the film, which is guaranteed to score points not only with the great backdrop of the Frankfurt skyline. After all, this magical-romantic comedy also stars Elena Uhlig ("Unter Frauen", "Alles auf Zucker"), Pheline Roggan ("Russendisko", "Soulkitchen"), Juliane Köhler ("Schoßgebete", "Der Untergang"), Milan Peschel ("Der Nanny", "Rubbeldiekatz"), Adnan Maral ("Türkisch für Anfänger", "Einmal Hans mit scharfer Soße") and Oliver Korittke ("Wie Männer über Frauen reden"). We look forward to seeing NFP* neue film produktion GmbH in co-production with ARD Degeto bring the film to cinemas in 2017!
