Mario Barth - Men are primitive, but happy! (2 DVDs)

Amazon Link : Mario Barth - Men are primitive, but happy! (2 DVDs)
Film: Mario Barth is back! After the enormous success of his first program "Männer sind Schweine, Frauen aber auch", Barth now follows up with "Männer sind primitiv, aber glücklich!". Little has changed in the style. With his Berliner Schnauze and his directly sympathetic kind Barth gives in scarcely 115 minutes (+ 4minütigem Intro) again an exposing, hilarious view of the world of the misunderstandings and problematics between men and women. Barth takes the listener handbag shopping, gives his very special review of "Titanic" and explains why "Star Wars" is not a chick flick, reveals what happens to men who discover walking for the sake of their wives or presents amusing proof of the cliché that women can't park. While not all numbers work as well as in the first program, but overall "Männer sind primitiv, aber glücklich!" is in no way inferior to its predecessor. Anyone who has seen Barth live or watched the DVD of the first program (the double DVD is an absolute recommendation to buy, because the bonus material is really very amusing!!!) knows how important Barth's presence is for the full effect of the numbers. When the comedian sweeps across the stage or puts on the uncomprehending look of a man during the ecstatic handbag purchase of a woman, then hardly an eye remains dry. So Mario Barth proves again with his second program that he is probably the best stand up comedian in Germany at the moment. The most successful he is certainly, which proves a look at the audience figures of the recorded concert (almost 15,000!). Who liked the first program or of this one so far only the CD owns, should access with the DVD absolutely. Picture and sound: For a concert DVD there is hardly something to be criticized at the technical aspect. The picture is sharp, the sound crisp - what more could you want. In this case: nothing! Very good! Extras: Fans of course reach for the double DVD here, although the bonus material has become entertaining, but not as good as on the first double DVD. The bonus material on the second disc has been split into two sections: "Indoor" and "Exterior". "Drinnen" follows Mario through the final hours before the show, on a particularly amusing backstage tour introducing some of the staff, or on a post-show autograph session. The first moments after the finale of the show were also caught on camera. In addition, there is a very nice outtake from the program and a very funny encore, in which Mario Barth tells about a particularly weird encounter with two fans. In addition, there are - as on the first DVD - excerpts from the fan and crew box, where fans and crew members could leave their very personal messages to Mario. This is especially amusing when the whole thing has become rather unintentionally funny or extremely embarrassing. It also gets really funny when Mario prepares the audience for the fact that a few more inserts have to be recorded for the TV broadcast on RTL and he also has to get his make-up artist Conny on stage for this. "Outside" allows the fans a look into Mario's past. Together with a camera crew he visits his old training facility (Siemens), talks to his instructors (where some very nice anecdotes can be heard) and more or less successfully demonstrates his still existing skills to the new trainees. After this very entertaining excursion it goes to a short trial training with Hertha BSC, on (!!) the Brandenburg Gate and to the "Scheiße baun`" in an ice hockey stadium. In total, all these extras are amusing and entertaining and prove that Mario Barth is also a really funny comedian off stage. For fans absolutely worth seeing!!! Conclusion: "Men are primitive, but happy!" is for Mario Barth fans an absolute must! The double DVD can convince technically quite, the extras are amusing, but do not quite reach the class of the predecessor. Nevertheless: for fans only the double DVD comes into question!
