Preview of the 40th LUCAS International Festival

LUCAS International Festival for Young Film Fans is looking forward to an exciting program for the 40th edition. Edition of the festival from October 1 to 7

Successful second place in the crowdfunding competition kulturMut of the Aventis Foundation with startnext.com and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain makes a varied anniversary program

Family Film Day on Tuesday, 3. October

LUCAS International Festival for Young Film Fans presents the world's best films for young audiences from 1 to 7 October 2017 at the Deutsches Filmmuseum and other venues in Frankfurt, Offenbach and Wiesbaden. The wide range of feature films, documentaries, animation and experimental films, offered in original versions and German dubbing, is aimed at children, teenagers and young adults from four years to 18plus. LUCAS offers the audience numerous opportunities to help shape the festival: behind and in front of the camera, as jury members or presenters. In exciting discussions with guests, young film fans can immerse themselves in the world of films for a whole week.

A particularly lavish anniversary programme, including a Family Film Day for the whole family on Tuesday, 3. October, was also made possible by the additional financial injection of 20,000 euros accessed in the crowdfunding competition of kulturMut, an initiative of the Aventis Foundation, together with startnext.com and the Kulturfonds Frankfurt RheinMain. "The LUCAS team is extremely pleased that so many supporters could be mobilized in the crowd, and that we will subsequently receive the additional funding, said Artistic Director, Cathy de Haan. "We promise all LUCAS fans a great accompanying programme with lots of opportunities to get involved.
