Expansion of the festival program to 25 film evenings
additional dates in Mainz and Frankfurt-Höchst
Telling interesting, exciting and original stories in just a few minutes is much more difficult than one might imagine. So it is all the more amazing how many successful, surprising, fascinating short films are made year after year. And it is these shorts that the short film festival Shorts at Moonlight is now offering an extensive platform for the eleventh time, with steadily increasing audience interest. From July 16 to August 17, numerous national short films will be presented to visitors at selected locations in the Rhine-Main region, with a special focus on filmmakers from the region. The atmospheric venues include the Höchster Schloss in Frankfurt, the Alte Wasserschloss in Hofheim and the Kurfürstliche Schloss in Mainz:
With almost 12,000 visitors, Germany's most popular open-air short film festival closed last year with a record attendance. All 19 film evenings were completely sold out!
Preparations are already in full swing for this year's festival. The festival kicks off at Höchster Schloss on July 16, 2014, and due to the great response last year, the program has been expanded to a total of 25 film evenings. There are five additional dates in Mainz and a further screening in Frankfurt-Höchst.
Once again this year, the audience can cast their vote and, as the festival jury, choose their favourite films, which will finally be shown as "The Best" on the last evening in Höchst, Hofheim and Mainz. The most popular audience films of the overall programme as well as the film favourites of past years ("Evergreens") will be shown by Shorts at Moonlight at the end of the festival - in the fifth programme block in Mainz.
The 2014 dates: Frankfurt-Höchst (Höchster Schloss): 16 - 20 July and 23 - 27 July 2014 Hofheim am Taunus (Altes Wasserschloss): 30 July. - August 03, 2014 Mainz (Kurfürstliches Schloss): August 06 - 10 and August 13 - 17, 2014
