Two program slots per month the cinema of the Deutsches Filmmuseum puts into the hands of the Junger Filmclub Treppe 41, which was founded in spring 2015. Students and young film enthusiasts can thus get a taste of programming and presenting film programmes. Treppe 41 presents each film from the individual point of view of one of its members, who then end the film experience together with the visitors over a drink and good conversation on the stairs of the Deutsches Filmmuseum:
"A film begins when it is at the end. It begins in conversations, in the exchange of opinions. That's where the dream we just saw crystallizes. And in that soul-searching work, you become a little better, freer, more open." Naum Kleiman

Friday, 21. August, 10:30 p.m. TO LIVE AND DIE IN L.A. USA 1985. dir: William Friedkin d: William L. Petersen, Willem Dafoe, John Pankow. 116 mins. 35mm
After the murder of his partner, Secret Service agent Richard Chance does everything he can to put counterfeiter Rick Masters behind bars. This hunt becomes more and more of a personal vendetta that has the cop stopping at nothing. 14 years after THE FRENCH CONNECTION, William Friedkin once again explores the fine line between good and evil. The film not only shines with an atmospheric score by British pop group Wang Chung, but also features one of the most impressive car chases in film history.
