2018 marks 10 years since the 3rd Rhineland-Palatinate State Garden Show was held in Bingen am Rhein. With investments amounting to 32 million euros, derelict port and railway land was developed in a future-oriented manner into park and leisure areas as well as high-quality housing. The city of Bingen thus experienced the largest urban development structural programme since the post-war period and created a new dynamic for the economy and tourism. Looking back on this decade, it can be said that not only the LGS as such was a complete success with 1.3 million visitors. The sustainability of the far-reaching investments can still be felt today. The city of Bingen on the Rhine celebrates this anniversary with various Verantaltungen and actions.
