The countdown is on! On Sunday, August 25, it's that time again: the Duck Race Frankfurt is going into the next round. For the tenth time, the Lions Club Frankfurt/Main SkyLine is organizing the popular duck race. For a good cause, up to 8,000 swimming ducks go to the start - fun for the whole family. The competition will take place as part of the Museumsuferfest.
The charity event starts on August 25 at approximately 3:15 p.m. below the Holbeinsteg on the Sachsenhäuser Ufer. The swimming ducks swim with the current about 100 meters downstream to the university rowing club (direction Friedensbrücke) to compete. For 5 euros, visitors can purchase a start ticket and become a sponsor of a racing duck. Online tickets are for sale at https://duckrace.enterbrain.eu. In addition, tickets can be purchased on August 25 between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the stand on the riverbank near the "Liebieghaus" sculpture museum.
Taking part is also worthwhile with regard to the main prize: a week in the Maldives for two people in one of the Villa Hotels, including a flight with Emirates. The award ceremony will take place from 17:15 at the stage "Foodtopia - MyZeil Frankfurt", also on the southern bank (between Eisernem Steg and Untermainbrücke). Absentees will be informed in writing afterwards. In addition, other attractive prizes will be awarded.
The Lions Club Frankfurt/Main SkyLine is hosting the event on a voluntary basis and will donate the surplus to the association Projekt Schmetterling e.V. Under the motto "With the diagnosis of cancer towards life", Schmetterling is committed to funding innovative inpatient and outpatient psycho-oncological care projects for cancer patients and their relatives. For more than twelve years, the association's financial resources have closed a gap in the health care system, because the costs of important psycho-oncological care are not covered by health insurance companies in all cases.
