The "sportiest family duo" is wanted again! Next Sunday (September 25, 2022 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m.) a "birthday party" will take place, because the unique FamilySportFest will experience its 10th edition. The scene is again the headquarters of the organizer, the sports circle Frankfurt: the factory sports hall in Fechenheim.
In a family duo - whether father/daughter, aunt/niece, grandfather/grandson - it is about playing out fitness and team spirit. Cognitive and coordinative skills are to be demonstrated in various games of skill. The motto is: "For young and old! For all generations!". Fun is in the foreground, because everyone can live out their urge to move in the many different activities on offer. Balance, skill and concentration are in demand at the twenty or so stations. Together, the family duos are to playfully master the tasks with confidence and agility.
The concept for the family duos was developed last year in order to be able to safely set up a diverse range of offers at the time, even under Corona conditions.
The Sportkreis Frankfurt and its partners - Sportstadt Frankfurt am Main, Frankfurter Bäder, TG Bornheim and Sportklinik Bad Nauheim - have hit the mark with this creative idea! In 2021, all time slots were fully booked. This time, too, family duos - at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., 2 p.m. or 3:30 p.m. - can each book a ninety-minute time slot online. Late registrations on site are possible. Prizes for the best mean additional motivation, and there will also be exciting information and activities at the "Fair of Sports". It is guaranteed to be entertaining and challenging - and of course inclusive.
The FamilySportFest is part of the European Week of Sport for the second time. This week of action takes place annually in the last week of September and is an initiative of the European Commission to promote sport and exercise. With a variety of free physical activity offers, the aim is to motivate people to move and, in doing so, to get to know different ways to move, even just beyond competition. Since 2015, this initiative has ensured more physical activity in 42 countries every fall.
