For more than 40 years, the outstanding playing culture of the 12 cellists of the Berliner Philharmoniker has demonstrated the richness of colour, variety of sound and variability inherent in their instruments. With programmes ranging from classical to pop, from tango to the Beatles, they have always brought a repertoire to international concert stages that could hardly be broader. In doing so, they do not limit themselves to arrangements of existing pieces - a significant part of their program are compositions dedicated to them. For some years now, the "12" have also been collaborating with renowned artist colleagues. This time, for example, they are on stage with the soprano Annette Dasch, who is very well known to our audience, staying true to their program concept and mixing styles, genres and centuries.
Romantic works by Dvorák, Korngold and Debussy are combined by them with film music and South American music. In sum, a varied, exciting and intense evening of concerts!
