Parallel to the Höchst Christmas Market, the now 18th Höchster Designparcours will take place again this year on the first Advent weekend from Saturday, November 26 to Sunday, November 27. Young designers, artists, photographers and other creative people will enliven the district. After the Höchster Designparcours was held in the summer of 2021 and 2022 as an "outdoor special" due to corona, it can now take place again "regularly" in inter-used indoor spaces. As in the past, it will take place in vacant commercial spaces and other inaccessible rooms in Höchst's downtown and old town. Some of them are likely to be of particular interest to visitors, such as the rooms of the former "Melodie" restaurant at Bolongarostraße 155. The listed half-timbered house from the 18th century has been empty for a long time. Now the owners are planning to renovate it and put it to a new use. Before that, it is available for the Höchster Designparcours.
Exhibitors in the temporarily used spaces will be joined by the activities of Höchst-based creatives, such as the Höchst*Schön label and ffj Büro für Typografie und Gestaltung at Höchster Markt, Atelier Frank Mayer - Neue Ästhetik aus Höchst in Bolongarostraße and LiwieLindau - textile connections at Höchster Schlossplatz. In the KunstRaum Westkunst Frankfurt Nied, the vernissage for the 15th Petersburg hanging will take place on November 26 at 6 p.m.
The Wunderbar in Antoniterstrasse is also part of the Höchster Designparcours this time. There the exhibition "If robots dream" of the artist Nicolai judge from Griesheim is to be seen still up to January 2023. The ideas, works and products of local and regional creatives can thus be found at 14 locations during the 18th Höchster Designparcours. Thus, this time again, a creative course criss-crosses the old and inner city of Höchst. There will also be a collaboration with Filmforum Höchst on Emmerich-Josef-Strasse. In cooperation with the Höchster Designparcours, the Filmforum will show the current film "In einem Land, das es nicht mehr gibt" ("In a country that no longer exists"), which is set in the subcultural fashion scene of the GDR.
On the whole, the 18th Höchster Designparcours will once again offer a special overview of the region's creative scene. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk to creative people, learn about new products and discover Höchst (anew). All visitors are invited to collect stickers at ten stations of their choice during the tour and participate in a raffle. To win there are purchase coupons in the value of 50 euro, which can be redeemed in each case with one of the exhibitors.
The Design Parcours is being held as part of the "Innenstadt Höchst" development program, and is organized by the Höchst district office of "Projektstadt" as a brand of Nassauische Heimstätte and by "Radar - Creative Spaces for Frankfurt" on behalf of the city planning office and with the support of the Frankfurt Economic Development Corporation.
