Musical life in the British Isles would be unimaginable without the five orchestras of the BBC. Bie this concert, you'll experience the Glasgow, Scotland-based sensation full of life and enthusiasm.
In addition to touring abroad, the BBC Scottish Symphony Orchestra regularly performs at the BBC Proms in London or the international Edinburgh Festival.
The soloist is Nikolaj Znaider, a native of Denmark and one of today's leading violinists.
Znaider plays on a legendary instrument: the "Kreisler" Guaneri del Gesù 1741 - once the violin of the famous Fritz Kreisler.
His recording of the great Brahms concerto with the Vienna Philharmonic and Valery Gergiev has won many awards, and the newspaper "Die Zeit" writes enthusiastically: "Brahms' high, gently glistening notes have in him something intangible and concrete at the same time, they shimmer like sun. Znaider finds new ways to romantic music" (Die Zeit)
