The novel "Treasure Island" is a wonderful read for rainy winter afternoons, but what if all of a sudden there really is a pirate with a wooden leg at the door? Before he really has time to think, the young protagonist Jim is already in the middle of a wild adventure and in search of a mysterious treasure. The respectable crew of sailors on board quickly turn out to be a wild bunch of pirates who are ready for anything when it comes to capturing Captain Flint's legendary treasure. But greed for money can make you blind and rum is not so conducive to intelligence either, so Jim and his friend the captain manage to outwit the pirates. But who will find the treasure in the end and what is in the ominous treasure chest anyway?
This year we approach the theme of "Treasure Island" in a humorous and comical way and question the figure of the pirate in a caricatured way. What does a pirate actually do in times of free trade agreements?
