Rheingau vintners look forward to Idstein visitors This year, the Idstein Wine Festival will be held for the 29th time in the picturesque old town of Idstein. Around the König-Adolf-Platz, the Rheingauer Weinwerbung GmbH together with the Verein der Gewerbetreibenden Idstein aktiv e.V. organizes the five-day event. The Rheingau winegrowers together with the Idstein restaurateurs invite you to taste, enjoy and celebrate. Nine Rheingau winegrowers, one wine shop and five restaurateurs will open their stands again this year for the PreOpening on Wednesday at 6:00 pm. On Friday, visitors are expected to arrive at 4:00 p.m., and on Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, the wine festival will open its doors at 12:00 p.m. Majestic things will happen on Thursday, May 25, 2017, at 12:30 p.m., when the Rheingau wine queen Stephanie Kopietz, together with the Kostheim wine queen Celina Dammköhler and her wine princess Michelle Gönder, will ceremoniously open the wine festival at König-Adolf-Platz. "Idstein is one of the first wine festivals in the new year. Here, it is always particularly fun to toast the season with Rheingau wines", says the Rheingau wine queen Stephanie Kopietz. Also the Idsteiner Stadtlauf has become a fixed program item of the wine festival. As usual, the city run takes place on Fridays; the winners will be honored on the stage of the festival grounds around 7 pm. The little visitors can have themselves imaginatively made up at their own stand on Sunday from 14:00- 17:00.
