The Brunnenfest in Oberursel is a folk festival celebrated annually on the weekend after Whitsun in the second largest city of the Hochtaunuskreis. The old town, the fairground "Auf der Bleiche" and the marketplace of Oberursel are the places in the Taunus city where the festival is held from Friday to Monday.
The Fountain Festival is always opened on Friday by the Oberursel Fountain Queen and the Oberursel Fountain Master, the representatives of the Fountain Festival. They officiate for one year. Their task is, among other things, to christen the annually changing Brunnenfest fountain with cider.
In addition to an amusement park, live music and dancing are traditional program items of the festival. Sunday will begin in the marketplace with the Fountain Festival Run. At the fountain festival of the year 2009 was also held for the first time an artisan market as part of the festival.
