Right after the release of their self-titled first album, 3Teeth got an invitation to join Tool and Primus on a big arena tour. And since then, the industrial metal gods have only gotten better. The second record -shutdown.exe- brought them headline tours in Europe and the USA and support slots for bands like Rammstein, HIM and Danzig. Now 3Teeth are going deeper with "Metawar": "Our debut was about man vs. the world, the second album was about man vs. man, and on the new record it's world vs. world," explains frontman Alexis Mincolla, musing that man must create his own world if he doesn't want to be destroyed by someone else's. "Metawar" is a sonic assault on the perception management systems that have a firm grip on our world. It is a counter to the invisible war of ideologies that continually pushes avatar chess pieces back and forth on the battlefield of social platforms. It's directed at a world where everyone is plugged into a giant prosthetic digital nervous system and incessantly manipulated by the ideology of the day. 3Teeth ram this album into the cognitive gears that drive the fiercely divisive rhetoric by highlighting the hypocrisy, idiocy, and insanity on all sides. The Californians do it with exactly the aggressive uncompromisingness you've come to expect from them. As producer they hired Sean Beavan, who has already worked with genre greats like Nine Inch Nails and Marilyn Manson. He knows how to deal with the cynical humor with which 3Teeth analyze our world and congenially translated it into a brutal sonic assault. This promises full mosh pits and great visuals once again for the upcoming tour in February.
