A must for all wine lovers is a visit to the Rheingau Wine Week in the state capital. From 11 to 20 August 2017, the now 42nd edition of Wiesbaden's popular wine festival, also called the "longest wine counter in the world", will be celebrated in the city's core. About 115 booths will offer a huge selection of wines, sparkling wines and culinary delicacies in front of the backdrop of Wiesbaden's Schlossplatz. Each year, a partner city of Wiesbaden also presents itself with selected products. This year, the Israeli twin city of Kfar Saba invites visitors to taste fine wines from its wineries "Teperberg", the oldest winery in Israel, and "Recanati". Musical entertainment is also well catered for with more than 50 music groups playing on three stages in front of the town hall, the Marktkirche and the Dern'schen grounds. There will be a reunion with well-known bands, but new groups can also be discovered. Among others, "Krüger Rockt!" and the "Beat Box" will be there in 2017, but also new bands like "Mission Possible", which presents rock and pop, "Myriam unplugged and Friends", who have country and folk in their repertoire, or "Connatural", also with rock and pop. The stalls are open Mondays to Thursdays and Sundays from 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. - in front of the Marktkirche on Sundays from 12 p.m. - and Fridays and Saturdays from 11 a.m. to midnight
