Lots of good-humoured visitors: these are the ingredients for the Rheingau Wine Week, which will take place from Friday to Sunday, 9. to 18 August, will be celebrated on the Wiesbaden Schlossplatz, the square in front of the Marktkirche and on the Dern'schen grounds.
Nearly 100 Wiesbaden and Rheingau winegrowers will present their products at this 44th Rheingau Wine Week. Numerous restaurateurs will take care of the physical well-being of the guests. There will be a reunion with popular bands, but also new groups on the three stages in front of the town hall, the market church and on the Dern'schen grounds.
The starting signal will be given by Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende
The official starting signal for the 44th Rheingau Wine Week will be given by Wiesbaden's new Lord Mayor Gert-Uwe Mende and Mayor Dr. Oliver Franz on Friday, August 9, at 5 pm on the stage in front of the town hall.
Partnership wine stand: Istanbul-Fatih
Following the good tradition, one of Wiesbaden's twin towns will again present itself at the Rheingau Wine Week this year. This year, it is Istanbul-Fatih - the youngest twin city of the state capital. At the partnership wine stand, the young wine brand Suvla will be served, which has already participated in national and international competitions and has been awarded with a first place several times.

Wine festival guests who want to share their favorite motifs from the wine festival or want to look at impressions will find them under the hashtag #rieslingfreunde on Instagram. There, Wiesbaden Marketing GmbH posts under the account wiesbaden.deinestadt and has initiated a participation campaign for the ten-day wine festival: Those who post their most beautiful (wine festival) pictures under #rieslingfreunde will automatically participate in a raffle for the most beautiful post on Instagram. Attractive gifts around the topics wine and Wiesbaden are waiting for the winners.
Play and care program
The Evangelische Familien-Bildungsstätte (Protestant Family Education Center), in cooperation with Wiesbaden Marketing, is putting together a diverse play and care program for the little wine festival visitors. In the House of the Market Church (Schlossplatz 4), children between the ages of five and eleven will be looked after on Saturdays from 4pm to 10pm and on Sundays from 1pm to 8pm. The care costs on Saturdays per started hour four euro, on Sundays it is free.
