Revolution with bare hands. Le trajectoire d'un peuple. Le Burkina Faso is a cinematic document of the memory of the popular uprising on 30 and 31 October 2014 in Burkina Faso, which brought about the fall of the dictatorial regime of Blaise Compaoré. The film approaches different protagonists of the uprising and visits symbolic places of the events. It questions motivations and reasons in the living conditions of the population as well as in the memories of previous struggles of the last decades.

The narratives of people involved speak of how women, men, youth have risen up without weapons to a "No" against a dictatorial and militarized regime, believing that a determined population is capable of prevailing against any superior force, no matter how great. In addition, the film asks about the hopes and expectations of the various protagonists of the uprising for a future society: a dictatorship has been overthrown, but what political and social changes have yet to be achieved?

Revolution with Bare Hands. La trajectoire d'un peuple. Le Burkina Faso. Moussa Ouédraogo, Hans-Georg Eberl, Burkina Faso/ Austria 2016, 69 min.
