The concentration subcamp in the Adler Works with the code name 'Katzbach' existed from August 1944 to March 1945. It was one of the countless subcamps with which the Nazi regime sought to meet the shortage of manpower at the end of the war. And it was one of the most murderous. Its existence was long concealed. 'Adler Werke Katzbach' approaches the historical process of extermination through labor, terror, and starvation in this Frankfurt concentration camp on several artistic levels: with a textual score of documentary report, the perpetrators' self-representation, lamentation over the victims, and a composition on a medieval Polish hymn.
After the performance there will be a short talk by Herbert Bauch (Förderverein Gedenkstätte Katzbach) and a discussion for those interested.
