The musicians of this trio seem to have sought each other out and found their common calling. Here, many years of international experience are combined with fresh unspentness to form an enormously playful band. As the head of the formation, Australian trombonist Adrian Mears puts aside his actual musical hobbyhorse in many a piece. Instead, he brings out his facet as a multi-instrumentalist, gradually creating a densely woven tapestry of sound before the astonished listeners, into which he stylistically confidently incorporates even ethnic colourings, for example with the help of the didgeridoo. The result is a rich sound that suggests an orchestral instrumentation - one might hardly believe that there are only three musicians on stage. Daniel Mudrack on drums radiates an intoxicating and infectious energy. The grounding pole on the other hand is Thomas Stieger on bass. With calm reliability, he creates the framework for wide-ranging musical voyages of discovery.
