Silent film with new score by Uwe Dierksen
Admission free
Duration: approx. 30 minutes
In exciting contrast to the thought-provoking evening of September 16 - with the talk "Flight and Trauma" at 5:30 p.m. and the concert "Doch bin ich nirgend, ach! zu haus" at 7 p.m. - is the finale with Charlie Chaplin, who addresses the topic of migration with slapstick. "The Immigrant" is the title of his 1917 comedy, which bitterly comically depicts the arduous journey from Europe to America and the obstacle-filled arrival in the New World. Uwe Dierksen - trombonist and member of the Ensemble Modern - has tailored a modern sound garment for the work of the silent film era, which is heard here as a new soundtrack of the film.
