Albert Hammond's Songbook Tour is a song journey with songs that have made music history. Hammond has been writing hit songs for over 50 years and has also made a name for himself as a singer and entertainer. He has written songs for Tom Jones, Joe Cocker, Celine Dion, Chris De Burgh, Tina Turner and Diana Ross. He co-wrote and produced most of the tracks on Duffy's second album "Endlessly", released in 2010. He also scored countless hits under his own name, including "Down By The River" and "It Never Rains In Southern California".
On his songbook tour, which now brings him to the Alte Oper, he not only delights his audience with his wealth of songs, but also presents himself as a charming entertainer, who involves his fans in the concert, loosely conveys the stories of how the songs came about and thus takes the listener on his own song journey through several decades of pop history.
